- Are participating teachers required to volunteer? YES.
We are a volunteer-based organization. Each teacher is required to volunteer for 2 hours in-person, find a responsible adult or choose to pay a $75 fee to cover the cost of hiring outside help.

- FFMC Child Protection form is mandatory for All Judges, Volunteers, Workers, Accompanists and Teachers. If you did not submit this form, please do it ASAP. You only need to submit one time.

- Can we use rating sheets from previous years? NO.
Download and print the VIVACE generated rating sheet. These are computer generated with individual bar code assigned to each student. No other rating sheets will be accepted.
2 copies for Solo/Concerto/Pat/Folk/Hymn, etc. 1 copy for Sight Play. No rating sheet needed for Theory.

- Students must provide original music to the judges and clearly mark the measures. Students will be disqualified if there is no original music for the Judges. NO COPIES.
- Teachers should provide a list of students and events/levels to the judges, in the order they will perform.
- Theory will be offered every audition day in Room #107. Students may take the test before or after their playing audition. Last student will be admitted at 4pm, so plan accordingly.
- Sight Play - Sight Play on Feb. 10th and 11th will be done in the audition room. On February 17th, the students need to sign-up for a time slot in Room #123.

- What should the student do on the day of the audition?
There is no registration the day of the audition. Warm up at home (no practice rooms available), arrive 15 minutes early, bring original sheet music and rating sheets, and go straight to their assigned audition room. If they do not know the room number, stop by the Info Desk in the lobby.
- Video/Audio Recording is NOT permitted, per Bulletin pg. 7. This is a cause for disqualification.
- A student is no longer participating, what should I do?
There are no refunds. If you have cancellations, please send an email with names and events as soon as possible, so that we have records for the final report.

Dear Teachers,
Enclosed is the Bay Ridge Festival Piano/Voice/Clarinet schedule. There should be plenty of allowed time for adjudication and students to enter/exit the audition rooms within your block schedules.
Please look over the schedule and let us know ASAP if you see any issues or you were not assigned enough time.
There will be NO SCHEDULE CHANGES after Saturday, January 13th at 11:59PM.

Reminders (please refer to previous emails/website for details):

Please be respectful, professional and flexible. You, your colleagues, judges, students, parents, and volunteers have been working hard to create the most positive experience for our students. There may be unforeseen circumstances, difficulties or last minute changes. In case of any issues, please find a committee member who can solve the problem. Unprofessional behavior and altercations will not be tolerated and will result in removal from current or future festivals.
If you have any questions or concerns before the festival, use this email and a committee member will answer as soon as they can. Remember that we are ALL teachers, performers and family members with busy schedules.

The official invoice has been sent out via email. Please check your spam folder or let us know if you did not receive your invoice by Dec. 12. The Vivace invoice is final, and teachers must pay the full invoice regardless if the student decides not to participate after the registration date.
Festival fees are due by December 18th, 2023 (postmarked).
Make checks payable to Bay Ridge District and send to Ivanka Stefanov, 9005 Bana Villa Ct., Tampa 33635. Include a copy of your invoice.

PLAN AHEAD:

Rating Sheets are Vivace generated. Print 2 copies (per event) and give to the student to bring on the day of their audition. How to download rating sheets video CLICK HERE

Original Score: Students will be disqualified if there is no original music for the Judges.
Copyright Rules and Regulations will be strictly enforced. Copyright permission and/or purchase receipt must accompany any printed computer-generated music. All music must be in paper form and standard solo format: No orchestral scores or e-devices are allowed. Students must have their own original solo music. Not adhering to these Rules will result in disqualification. -
Volunteering: Each teacher is required to volunteer for 2 hours in-person or choose to pay a $75 fee to cover the cost of hiring outside help. Please remember that all Festivals are run on volunteer work, and we would rather have manpower than collect fees. A Google Form with volunteer times available will be sent out after the student schedule is published, so you can plan accordingly when signing up.

Accompaniment: If accompaniment is indicated in the score, accompaniment must be used. Entrants/Teachers must provide their own accompanists. Accompaniments must be live.

Specially Capable Musicians: please refer to page 4 of Bulletin. There is a form (3-13) that needs to be submitted to the area and state chairman at least 1 month prior to the Festival Date.
